Description
Fresh Dried Waakye Leaf Tea (Sorghum Leaves) also known as Millet leaves. Waakye is a dish originally from the Northern part of Ghana. Traditionally the leaves / stalk is infused with white rice and cooked with black eye peas and baking soda, which gives it a deep burgundy hue. It is then served with plaintain and Shitto or garri and tomato stew. It provides a subtle smokey citrus taste when infused in any dish. Waakye Leaves also known as Sorghum Stalk is full of natural antioxidants and can also be used to make a refreshing herbal tea and tonic for general vitality and immune boosting properties.
